Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records

The original Federal Regulations on the Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Records (CFR 42 Part 2) were published in 1975, and then updated in 1984.  Last week the long awaited next generation of updated regulations including the new title of  “Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records” became effective.  All CADC’s must be aware of the changes, and implement in their practice.
